IPTV Smarters Pro not working on an Android TV box
IPTV Smarters Pro not working on an Android TV box? App crashes, login errors, a blank channel list or endless loading: the fixes in the order that solves most cases.

IPTV Smarters Pro not working on an Android TV box usually comes down to one of five things: an app that needs a clean restart, a login field typed slightly wrong, a clock set to the wrong time, a cache that has filled up, or a player setting the box cannot handle. Match your symptom in the table, then work through the fixes in order; each takes a couple of minutes, and the quickest come first.
Match your symptom first
| Symptom | Most likely cause | Fix to try first |
|---|---|---|
| Crashes or closes as it opens | A damaged cache or an app update gone wrong | Fix 4, then fix 5 |
| Login error, or account shown as invalid | A typo, a missing http:// or port, or an ended plan | Fix 2 |
| Signs in, but the channel list is blank | The playlist did not download: clock, cache or network | Fix 3, then fix 4 |
| Endless loading on every channel | The network, or a player setting | Fix 8, then fix 7 |
| No TV guide | Guide not downloaded, or the clock or time zone is wrong | Fix 3, then refresh the guide |
| Sound but no picture | A decoder the box cannot use for that stream | Fix 7 |
| Menus lag and everything is slow | Storage nearly full, or an underpowered box | Fix 6 |
Eight fixes, quickest first
Restart the box properly
Closing the app is not enough, because Android keeps it in memory. Restart the box from its settings (on many Android TV boxes, Settings › Device Preferences › About › Restart; on Google TV, Settings › System › Restart), or unplug it at the wall for thirty seconds. Restart the router too if other apps are slow.
Check every login field
The Login with Xtream Codes API screen has four fields. Any name can go in the first. Username and password are case-sensitive, so watch for O and 0, l and 1, and spaces at the end. The URL must start with http:// and end with the port number after the colon, exactly as in our message. To fix a saved user, open the user list, then edit it or delete it and add it again.
Set the date and time to automatic
A box with the wrong date cannot make secure connections and shows an empty or shifted guide. In Settings › Device Preferences › Date & time (or Settings › System › Date & time on Google TV), turn on automatic date and time and check the time zone is set to the UK. Menu names vary between boxes.
Clear the cache, then the data
Go to Settings › Apps › See all apps › IPTV Smarters Pro and choose Clear cache. Open the app and test. If it still fails, go back and choose Clear data, sometimes labelled clear storage: this resets the app completely, so you will need to add your login again.
Update or reinstall the app
An outdated version may not cope with current streams, and a damaged install can crash as it opens. Update from the place you installed it, either the Play Store where your box lists the app or the developer’s own download page. If an update does not help, uninstall, restart the box and install again. There is no IPTV UK Station app, so ignore any download offered under our name.
Free up storage
Android boxes slow down, and apps crash, when storage is nearly full. Check the free space in Settings › Device Preferences › Storage (Settings › System › Storage on Google TV), uninstall apps you no longer use and clear the cache of other large apps. Leave a comfortable margin free rather than filling the box to the last megabyte.
Change the player settings
In the app’s Settings, open Player Selection and try the other built-in player, or an external player if you have one installed. In the player settings, switch between hardware and software decoding: hardware is smoother on most boxes, while software plays some streams that hardware cannot. Under Stream Format, try MPEGTS and HLS in turn. Menu names vary between versions.
Check the network
Open another streaming app, or a speed test on the box itself. If those struggle too, the problem is the connection: move the box onto a cable or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and restart the router. Each HD stream needs about 10 Mbps and each 4K stream about 25 Mbps; the IPTV buffering guide goes through the network checks in detail.
Symptom by symptom: what else to try
The app crashes as soon as it opens
Clear the cache, then the data, then reinstall (fixes 4 and 5). If it still crashes, restart the box with nothing else running. Some older, uncertified boxes run an Android version too old for current app versions; then the box is the problem, not the login.
The channel list is blank
The app signed in, but the playlist did not download. Check the date and time, then use the reload option on the home screen and let the channel and guide update finish; with 25,000+ channels to fetch, it can take a minute. Clear the cache if it stays blank. A blank list with no error can also mean the plan has ended, so check the end date in your last message from us.
Endless loading on every channel
Test the same login on a phone. If the phone plays, the box or its connection is the cause: try a cable, the 5 GHz band and a router restart, then the stream format in fix 7. If the phone spins too, write to us.
No TV guide
Open the guide section and give it a few minutes on first load. If it stays empty, refresh the guide from the app’s settings, check the time zone, and use EPG Time Shift only if every programme is out by the same amount of time.
Sound but no picture
The box cannot decode that stream with the current setting. Switch between hardware and software decoding, or change the player. If it happens only on 4K channels, the box may not decode that format at all: play the HD version instead, and see what makes an Android box good for IPTV.
When the login error will not go away
If fix 2 changes nothing, the server may be refusing the login rather than reading it wrong: an ended trial or plan, details replaced after moving from the trial to a paid plan, or a server URL from an old message. Try the same details on another device. If they fail there too, send us your username and we will check the line. TiviMate shows the same problem as an error code, explained in the TiviMate error 401 guide.
Starting again from scratch
Sometimes a clean start is quicker than more fixes. Uninstall the app, restart the box, install it again and sign in with the Xtream login, following the IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide. If you are still testing, the free trial is the time to find out whether your box copes, and our IPTV Smarters Pro subscription page explains what the login opens in the app.
What to send us
If none of this works, message +212 663 813 479 with your username, the box model and its Android version, the IPTV Smarters Pro version (shown in the box’s app information), a photo of the error, and the fixes you have already tried. The contact page can prepare the message for you, and the help centre covers faults in other players.
IPTV Smarters not working: questions
Why does IPTV Smarters Pro keep crashing on my Android box?
Usually a damaged cache, storage that is nearly full or an app version that does not suit the box. Clear the cache in the box's app settings, then clear the data if it still crashes, and add your login again. If that fails, uninstall, restart and reinstall from the same source you used before. On very old uncertified boxes, the Android version itself can be the limit.
Why does IPTV Smarters Pro reject my login?
Either a detail is typed wrong or the line is not active. Check that the URL starts with http:// and ends with the port, that the username and password match our message exactly, capitals included, and that nothing ends with a space. Then check the end date of your plan or trial. If all of that looks right, our desk can confirm the state of the line in a minute.
Will clearing data in IPTV Smarters Pro delete my login?
Yes. Clearing the data, sometimes called clearing storage, returns the app to the state it was in when first installed, so the saved user, favourites and settings go. Your subscription is not affected: sign in again with the same Xtream details from your WhatsApp chat. Clear the cache on its own first, because that keeps the login and often solves the problem anyway.
Why is my IPTV Smarters channel list empty?
The app signed in but did not finish downloading the playlist. Check that the box's date and time are set to automatic, reload the channels from the home screen and give a long list a minute. If it stays empty, clear the cache, check that the plan has not ended, and test the same login on another device to rule out the box.
Where should I download IPTV Smarters Pro for an Android box?
From the Play Store if your box lists it, or from the developer's own website, never from a random file-sharing link, because altered copies of player apps circulate. On a Firestick, the Downloader app installs it from an address; we send the current Downloader code with your login, because codes change. No version of the app comes from us.
